Marigolds are real heroes in the garden. Not only do their annual blooms add cheer, any marigold species have edible flowers, and in many countries these are often used in garlands and decorations for festivals and religious events. Marigolds very hardy, perfect for low care garden beds while also attracting bees to the garden as well as repel insects, making them great companions for many vegetables. A good all rounder!
PLANT
Autumn or spring.
HARVEST
Spring through to autumn, with some locations being all year round. For best result regularly pinch and pluck flower off the stem to encourage bountiful display of colourful flowers.
EAt
Edible flowers for garnishing food or decorating cakes and drinks.
PRESERVE
Dry hanging upside down in bunches. This will take 2-4 weeks.
