Morus alba
Easy to grow and an absolute delight to eat, mulberries can grow into large trees which make them great shade trees. Dwarf varieties are also available. Mulberries are good source of natural sugar. Just be careful with the darker coloured fruit as they can stain fingers and clothes.

Winter.
HARVEST
Spring. Pick large berries and taste to make they're ripe. Berries can be hand picked or spread a sheet under mulberry tree and shake the branch to gather up all fallen berries on ground. Trees grow up to 10 metres.
EAT
The white, red or black berries are perfect eaten fresh from the bush, stewed or cooked into a pie.
PRESERVE
Freeze your mulberries to enjoy them off season, or make them into a pie or jam.
