Curcuma longa
Turmeric is a beautiful, lush, tropical looking plant with spectacular flowers. It is also famous for its rhizome or underground stem that can be finely grated fresh or dried and added to food like Indian curries and rice to add beautiful colour, flavour and health benefits.

HARVEST
When the leaves of the plant yellow and die off it’s time to dig up the tubers.
EAT
Dried or freshly grated (remove rough outer skin if required) in curries and rice.
PRESERVE
Rhizomes will keep for month if stored in a cool, dark location. Can be dried and ground into a powerder.
